Lunker Laker Candy

In anticipation for the weekend, I had to tie up a few bucktail jigs for the ice fishing derby this coming weekend. Lake trout feed on small fish and a lot of lake trout colors tend to be those of yellow perch. I tied up a few variations that could be yellow perch. Throw some skin from a cut up sucker and BAM, you have yourself an appetizing bucktail jig for lake trout. Fish in depths anywhere from 30-60 feet of water and bump it off the bottom. The noise and vibration from it hitting the bottom will attract lakers in the area.

Hopefully one of these will help land me on the leaderboard!
